22:30 – Close of Event Centre / Secretariat

09:00 – Event Centre opening in Pataias (Arena’s event).
11:00 – Middle Distance Race (World Raking Event / Portuguese National Cup).
15:30 – Prize-Giving Ceremony WRE.
19:00 – Urban Night Sprint Race in Alcobaça. (This event does not count to the XI MOC)

20:00 – Barbecued Pig (For the participants of the Night Event).

1st March 2009

08:30 – Event Centre opening in Pataias (Event's arena).
09:30 – Long Distance Race (Portuguese National Cup).
14:30 – Prize-Giving and Closing Ceremony.

Classes which are not relevant to the Portuguese Orienteering Cup : W65 and W70


Open Classes

For participants of all ages, any sex, affiliated or not, with or without orienteering experience, single, in pairs or groups.

Easy short (OPT1) - Courses having 2 to 4 km, no more than 40 minutes to complete it, using safe linear references. With no technical skills needed and very low physical requirement and a great opportunity to sightseeing. Monitors will be available for teaching basic technical skills.

Difficult short (OPT2) - Courses having 4 to 5 km, no more than 60 minutes to complete it, using safe linear references. Basic technical skills are needed but very low physical skills are required and also with the opportunity to sightseeing.

Easy Long (OPT3) – Courses having 4 to 6 km, no more than 60 minutes to complete it, using safe linear references. Basic technical skills are needed but very low physical skills are required and also with the opportunity to sightseeing.

Difficult Long (OPT4) - Courses between 4 to 7 km length, no more than 80 minutes to complete it. Orienteering course that requires orienteering technical skills and some physical skills. The purpose of this course is the participation of licensed athletes which have sent their entries after the last deadline.

These classes do not earn any prizes.

Awards for the first 3 positions in all classes, except in Elite that will 5 too
Trophys for the 3 clubs most punctuated
